ISO 9002

The ISO 9002 series of quality system standards was jointly developed by more than 90 nations. They sought to create a common worldwide set of consistent quality assurance guidelines. These guidelines were later adopted by the American National Standards institute and the American Society for Quality Control as the ANSI/ASQC Q 90 Series of Standards. The Standards aim to help organizations set up procedures for achieving and sustaining an optimum level of quality in its products and services. The "Quality System" includes development, document control, manufacturing, and service operations.

In November of 1995, Mid-Island received ISO 9002 certification from the Quality Certification Bureau Inc. The certification followed a detailed assessment by QCB to confirm Mid-Island's compliance with stringent guidelines outlined in the International Standards Organization (9002) and European Norm (EN) 29002 standards.

To meet these guidelines the employees of Mid-Island had to follow the intricate qualification process step by step. This process, which spanned more than a year, required patience, training and total commitment to the high standards of ISO.

More and more organizations are requiring ISO 9000 certification from potential suppliers. By implementing the process to become certified and continue to improve on those processes, Mid-Island is striving to provide our customers the highest quality and service available.
